Microsemi manufactures Midspan power over Ethernet (PoE) injectors. Microsemi is not only known for being an inventor for PoE, they also have been a key contributor in the IEEE 802.3 PoE standards body from the conception. PoE Midspans send power over standard Ethernet cables, eliminating the need to run separate power cords and LAN cables to access points and data ports. Midspans are also a more cost effective way to implement PoE without the need to replace existing non-PoE switches.
